Literacy classes run
Illiteracy remains one of the strongest predictors of poverty in our area. It also passes down: parents who cannot read rarely have the means to keep a child in school through secondary level.
We work at both ends. Adult literacy classes run in the evenings, when people are back from work. For children, we provide books, uniforms and exam fees, and follow up with families when attendance slips.
