Poverty in our area is rarely a lack of willingness to work. It is a lack of the small amount of capital that makes work possible — a sewing machine, a rickshaw van, a few chickens, the stock to open a tea stall.
Our income generating activities programme provides that starting capital together with the training to use it. Participants are selected with the local community, so support reaches the households that need it most rather than the ones that ask loudest.
How it works
Each participant works with us to choose a trade they can realistically sustain. We provide the equipment or initial stock, basic bookkeeping guidance, and follow-up visits over the first year.
The aim is simple: that within twelve months the household no longer needs us.
Support Income Generating Activities
A donation of any size keeps this work running month to month.
